Did you know that February 2020 marks the 200th year anniversary of Susan B. Anthony's birth and 2020 also marks the 100th anniversary of women getting the right to vote? Quite a year!
But you probably don't know the story behind the passage of the 19th amendment and the role the women of Sterling and upstate NY played in making that happen. We at the Arts Center are about to bring that to life,
On February 29, at 2pm we will be presenting a dramatic reading of letters between Susan B and Elizabeth Cady Stanton and others -- brought to us by one of our members, Dorothy Cooper, who previously was docent of the Susan B. Anthony House in Rochester. She has performed this "play" in various locations and we are delighted to be able to offer it here.
We are also delighted that Robert Kolsters continues the history discussions this month Wednesdays 2-4pm.
Please check our Facebook page for the most up to date information on upcoming classes and events.
