Some of our Sterling Art Show first place winners.
Looking for a unique gift idea? How about one or both of our Fair Haven Retrospective books? The original Fair Haven Retrospective book (volume 1) or Fair Haven Retrospective 2020 (volume 2). The books are $20 each and are available at the Hardware Cafe & General Store - which is open daily, next door to the Arts Center. For a $5 shipping fee we can mail a book anywhere in the U.S. Contact us by email to arrange shipping and payment.
The purchase of this book(s) is a way for you to support the Arts Center. It is a look back in time to the Fair Haven of Yesterday and was released in September 2020 at our Fair Haven Retrospective Show. The book contains artwork from local artists as well as stories written by our local writers - stories of the early settlers in Sterling, early businesses in Fair Haven and how they evolved, village characters and life back in the day. This year's book has a section on some of our Foremothers as well as one on our "First" Pandemic. Yes, it was just over a hundred years ago that the Spanish Flu caused such devastation in Fair Haven -- you might be interested to read what recommendations the health professionals had back then! Stop by the Hardware Cafe or email us at email@example.com.
Another great gift idea is a gift certificate valid towards membership or any classes. Memberships paid for now will be valid through May 31, 2022. Members receive discounts on classes and on show entry fees. Class certificates will be honored for the same time period. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in purchasing..
Welcome to the Fair Haven Arts Center!
Dear Friends -
Several of our local authors will be having a Holiday book signing & reading here at the Arts Center (Barn) on November 21 from 2-4 pm. We're calling the event "Snow Stories & More -- Surviving Blizzards, Ghosts & Public Schools in Upstate NY".
Come be entertained as you hear writers Jim Farfaglia, Susan Gately, Robert Kolsters, John Mercer & Dan Witmer read some poignant, exciting & hilarious episodes from their books. A good way to kick off the Holiday season -- do some holiday shopping , support your local authors and have fun while doing so. Come for a short time or for the whole event -- no admission fee. For safety of all, we will be asking people to wear masks during the event.
Hope to see you there!
Thanks, as always, for your support!
